Today was the last day of this year Blackpool Dance Festival and Professional Ballroom competitiors took to the floor. As usual, each dance is judged separately from the 1/8 of the final and couples get separate recalls to the next round.

Marcus Hilton started the evening with calling the photographer Mark Gadsden from Dancesportphoto.net to the stage and congratulated him again for his brave action today. We have mentioned in the previous article that Mark saved a little boy from drowning this morning. No surprise that he received a standing ovation from everybody in the hall.

After that unusual start Markus announced the final placings string with the Waltz. The winners tonight were the defenders of the title from the last several years, the undefended Blackpool and World champions Arunas Bizokas and Katusha Demidova from USA - no surprise and well deserved victory. Arunas and Katusha were placed 1st in all the dances. The second place in all four dances went to their fellow countrymen Victor Fung and Anastasia Muravyova. Victor and Anastasia got engaged last week and Anastasia danced today wearing not just a beautiful dress but also a beautiful ring on her finger. Placed third in all the dances were Andrea Ghigiarelli and Sara Andracchio who represent England.

Placed fourth in all the dances were Domen Krapez and Monica Nigro from Slovenia. Valerio Colantoni and Yulia Spesivtseva from Russia were placed fifth in three dances and sixth in Tango. The sixth place overall went to the couple from China Chao Yang and Yiling Tan. They were fifth in the Quickstep, sixth in Waltz and Tango, but did not make the final in the Foxtrot.

Sascha Karabey and Natasha Karabey were sixth in Foxtrot but did not make to the final round in the other dances.

Blackpool Dance Festival 2014 is over! Good bye and see you next year.
